25th February 2009

In spite of the recent positive meeting of the 12th February, Today's Evening Standard includes an article featuring plans published by the Olympic Delivery Authority for improving the Capitals' Cycling and Walking Network.

The network includes two routes across Wanstead Flats which are broadly similar to the routes previously suggested by ODA and TfL which were rejected by City of London during the CRISP (Cycleway Route Implementation and Stakeholder Plan) process.

I understand that a number of parties have pressed for progress with implementation of an alternative route across Wanstead Flats. City of London have made no commitments to any route, but continue to discuss alternatives that would maintain the integrity of Forest Land.
